Understanding reception of care technology for Healthy Ageing at Home

SPHERE’s Big Ideas Grant scheme has awarded $167,934 to a collaborative project Understanding reception of care technology for Healthy Ageing at Home.

The project is a collaboration between SPHERE and the “Healthy At Home” consortium co-created by the CCRI with the University of Newcastle FASTlab, UNSW Tyree Foundation Institute of Health Engineering, and the NSW Smart Sensing Network (NSSN). 

The project seeks to elicit the views of ageing people, their families, and professional carers to understand what home-based technology is and is not acceptable to them for monitoring and processing activity and biometric data, in supporting the delivery of aged care. Furthermore, the project aims to map the aged-care ecosystem, to understand challenges and opportunities, to know where next to act in trialing an ecosystem of technology-enabled aged care. The project fits with the CCRI’s strategic objectives in supporting the development of new models of care and technological innovations that support ageing in place, and compliments its work with the Central Coast Health and Wellbeing Living Lab and ALICE initiatives.
