CCRI Hosts Launch of Central Coast Health and Food Collaboration

As part of its focus on supporting the development of the Central Coast Innovation District based at Gosford, the Greater Cities Commission today brought together a wide range of stakeholders working across the food industry, with researchers and health professionals, to launch a new initiative – the Central Coast Health and Food Collaboration at the CCRI.

With over 50 people attending, the event heard from leading food specialists and scientists including: Dr Emma Becket – Nutrition Research Australia, University of Newcastle; Alex Bow, Central Coast Food Alliance; Justine Gowland-Ella, Health Promotion, Central Coast LHD; Professor David Cameron-Smith, Professor of Food Innovation, University of Newcastle, and Cameron Davidson from Sanitarium Health Food Company.

The event undertook a world café style process to encourage participants to identify key stakeholders in the food and health domains across the Central Coast as well as the regional attributes and innovation opportunities for the Collaboration to consider.
