SUMMARY
Population ageing, shifting disease patterns and rising costs of care are putting traditional healthcare systems under increasing pressure. New Care Models (NCMs) aim to tackle the problem through better coordination of health and care provision, by enhancing services closer to home and outside hospital settings, and encouraging interventions to promote good health. This study explored the current evidence on the effectiveness of NCMs and outlines what insurers need to do to successfully adopt them.
