Research and innovation grounded in the Central Coast
The Central Coast is a large and growing region with strong clinical services and a growing research and innovation base. CCRI exists to connect those strengths and build the conditions for research and innovation that responds to local need.
CCRI is a partnership between the University of Newcastle and Central Coast Local Health District. Working across research, clinical practice, community engagement and external partnerships, CCRI helps promising ideas take shape and progress, connecting people across sectors, convening focused conversations, supporting early project development, building capability and making the Central Coast’s research and innovation activity more visible.
CCRI works across four thematic focus areas: Healthy Beginnings and Women’s Health, Healthy Ageing, Food, Nutrition and Health, and Mental Health, Trauma and Family Safety. These themes reflect the Central Coast’s health priorities and provide clear entry points for researchers, clinicians, community organisations, industry partners and funders who want to contribute.
